December 12, 2022

I am moving and leaving my first area. Today marks 6 months since I was set apart as a missionary. Ive spent all of that time since in this area, in Gallatin Missouri. Im getting transferred on Thursday tho, to a different area, and Ill also have a different companion. Well see how it goes, tbh I have no idea what to expect.

Sorry I dont have many pictures or stories but this area is pretty difficult for missionary work, and theres no one so far thats wanted to seriously take the lessons for the entire time Ive been here, not sure why. But the Lord works in mysterious ways and He is hastening His work, even if I personally dont see it happening right in front of me.

This will be a shorter email as well, since theres not much to report on. Ive had a few people that have told me to go away so thats always pretty funny to me. Just imagine, they get all grouchy and annoyed and grumpy then in a raspy, heavy northwest smoker accent they tell us to "geet out ohf heeya! Go away!" Usually with some kind of hand gesture or rude wave. Good stuff.

Also did I ever mention how many freaking cats live out here like I swear, each house has like 30 cats just chillin like around the property its insane. Theres this one cat that just appeared around the apartment area and we named it Larry until we realized it was probably a pregnant female cat and now its name is Larie pronounced exactly the same way. It just like tries to sneak into the apartment and the car. Lets just say Larie is a special cat, she cant stop moving... she almost never settles. Its not like shes fast at all shes just a constantly moving creature. Shes very physically affectionate and its great until she never stops and its actually pretty freaking annoying. Pretty sure shes disabled in some way. But anyways thats all Ive got to talk about, Ill see if I cant attatch a picture of Larie to this email.

Rudolph the red nosed deer that I skinned and cut into pieces

It's December finally, crazy how this time of year always sneaks up on you, and then all of a sudden you're slammed with quite possibly the biggest Holiday of the year, celebrated (for some people) since Halloween, but for the better and cooler people since right after Thanksgiving. Then like as if a bomb blew up over every town in America theres extra lights and colors and music blaring and bells and snowflakes and mistletoe and presents and reigndeer and Santa Claus and all the shopping and stores and 50% offs and trees...

Let this email be a silent reminder to you that the very first Christmas was celebrated by a shining star over a lowly stable, as a baby was born in a manger. Jesus Christ the Savior of the world is the reason for the season. The reason that the lights still shine over us in our homes and families today, and the reason we have families and loved ones that gather together at all. Keep Jesus Christ as the center of your Christmas, in fact, keep Him as the center of your memories, give him every second, every hour, ever day, ever week, every month every year. Your life, if you put Jesus Christ at the center, isnt yours! Give your all to be an instrument in His hands and be the reason someone else smiles. You can be the one bringing joy to this holiday season by serving someone else.

Just a little reminder to focus less on those superficial things and focus more on Him.
